Starting in 2023, the Impacte Awards and the Nit de la Comunicació (Communication Night) will be held in Sitges, thanks to an agreement reached between the Sitges Town Council, the Sitges Next Festival and the Col-legi del Màrqueting i la Comunicació de Catalunya, this event’s organizer. Today, Thursday, November 3rd, the 2022 Impacte Awards are being held in Barcelona, with the intervention of Sitges Mayor, Aurora Carbonell.
The Impacte Awards are the awards that honor the sector’s best communication campaigns in Catalonia, as well as a recognition of the sector’s track records and proposals. They are organized by the Col-legi del Màrqueting i la Comunicació de Catalunya (Marketing and Communication School of Catalonia) and serve as a barometer to measure the creativity and effectiveness of the different campaigns.
This agreement between the three parties means the relocation of the Impacte Awards to Sitges, as part of the Sitges Next Festival. At the same time, the proposal includes reviving the former Nit de la Publicitat (Advertising Night), now converted into the Nit del Màrqueting i la Comunicació (Marketing and Communication Night), which will also be held in Sitges on the same dates. The 2023 edition will be taking place on June 7th and 8th. This way, Sitges Next, which in the past few years has been held in November, will be moved to June, a date requested by sector professionals.
The sum of Sitges Next, the Impacte Awards and the Nit del Màrqueting i la Comunicació (Marketing and Communication Night) will allow Sitges to pool the entire profession together and become a center of attraction for talent in the field of communication. The Town Council’s commitment to bringing these two initiatives from the Col-legi del Màrqueting i la Comunicació de Catalunya are part of its line of development of the audiovisual hub to make Sitges the capital of Southern Europe in this sphere. Promoting Sitges as a location for filming, boosting its three audiovisual festivals (the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, the Endimaris Festival and the Sitges Next Festival) and attracting talent are all part of this municipal policy to place the town in a preferential position.
The 2022 Impacte Awards, held today, Thursday, honored Toni Segarra -who will be participating in this year’s Sitges Next- as an honorary member of the Col-legi del Màrqueting i la Comunicació de Catalunya (College of Marketing and Communication of Catalonia). Other awards were also presented to the campaigns of the BBK Foundation and LLYC, the Vicki Bernadet Foundation and Audi with Ogilvy, La Casa de Carlota, Tropic Feel and Full Circle Karma, Agbar and After, Wheelzzz and Vertically, Jordi Pont and Alex Krieger, among others.
The awards ceremony, held at CosmoCaixa, was attended by Sitges’ Mayor, Aurora Carbonell, and its Councilor for Economic Promotion, Guillem Escolà. Aurora Carbonell took to the stage at the end of the gala ceremony, invited by the dean of the Col-legi, Miquel Campmany, to express her satisfaction regarding the new venue for the awards and the Nit del Màrqueting i la Comunicació and to welcome all the sector’s professionals.
Sitges Next 2022 will be held next week, with a complete itinerary that includes 25 presentations and round tables, bringing together some forty professionals. Innovation in communication is the backbone of its lineup, featuring creatives, strategists and executives from some of the most internationally acclaimed agencies.
