The Sitges Next program adds five new speakers, with extensive experience in innovation

Joakim Borgström, Marta Llucià, Ferran López, Beatriz Martín Valcárcel and Anna Roca will be at Sitges Next 2023 delivering different presentations on innovation in communication. These five professionals are joining those already announced last week: Enric Soldevila, Ana Luna and Natalia Mirapeix. Sitges Next will be held on June 7th and 8th; tickets are already available on the website.

Joakim Borgström – better known as JAB – is the former Global Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of BBH.
Prior to this, Jab held a number of leadership roles, including Chief Creative Officer for BBH London and Singapore, Creative Director/Director of Innovation at Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, Creative Director at Wieden + Kennedy, Amsterdam, and Creative Director and Partner at DoubleYou, Barcelona. Jab is a rare mix of Swedish and Argentine, speaks five languages, and has worked in five countries over the last 25 years. During his career, he has worked with global brands including Nike, IKEA, Absolut, Audi, Coca-Cola, Google, Doritos, Barclays, Samsung, Heineken and Chevrolet. Jab is the winner of more than 200 awards, including 20 One Show pencils, 11 Cannes Lions and a Cannes Grand Prix. He has sat on the jury of every major award show and is a sought-after speaker in the industry. Jab holds a strong belief in the power of technology to unleash creativity. He is currently creating a startup that explores the intersection of artificial intelligence and human creativity.

Marta Llucià has been General Creative Director for some of the most outstanding creative agencies in Spain: Publicis Casadevall & Pedreño, SCPF – WPP and Mccann Spain and dommo (PS21) leading the creative transformation at independent and multinational agencies. From 2008 to 2012 she was founding partner and Creative Director of the agency La Doma.
She has worked for relevant local and global brands including BMW, Ikea, Nike, Aldi, Vodafone, Beko, Mango, Yoigo, Banco Santander, and many more, having the opportunity to develop projects worldwide.
Her global campaign “Eat Like a Pro” developed for Beko has been awarded two of the most prestigious awards in the sports industry: Sport Industry Awards and Football Business Awards and has also won two Euro Effies. Creatively, her work has garnered awards at renowned national and international festivals: Cannes Lions, The One Show, Epica Awards, ADC, El Ojo, El Sol, Fiap, Eurobest, c de c, New York Festival, etc. She has been a member of the jury at the most important national and international festivals. Marta Llucià contributes to supporting female diversity in the advertising industry, promoting the visibility of creative women as a founding partner of the platform Más Mujeres Creativas (More Creative Women). She is also a founding partner at Neu Boots, a ski equipment start up and founding partner at Her, a consultancy specializing in women consumers.

Ferran López is an independent creative director and strategic consultant specializing in the areas of sports, culture, web3 and brand building. He is one of the creative consultants at Nike, where he has led campaigns such as The Pulse of London, among others. He has also done recent work for Dazn (London) and Oatly (Malmö). Prior to this, he worked for some of the most prestigious agencies, including JWT London & Amsterdam, TBWA Amsterdam, Martin Agency London, Albion KBS London and Publicis London. His track record includes two Cannes Grand Prix and 17 Lions, as well as a Eurobest Grand Prix, 12 One Show, 4 Clio and 13 El Sol, among others.

Beatriz Martín Valcárcel is CDO at BBDO Proximity. With a solid and diversified background, she is developing her career based on a triangle formed by technology, strategy and business. Prior to that, she was head of the Digital Area at J. Walker Thompson and head of Digital Production at Doble You. She is an associate professor at the UOC.

Anna Roca heads Proximity’s Barcelona office and in recent years has been responsible for the strategic transformation of BBDO Spain. She previously worked as creative director at Orbital and Contrapunto BBDO, where she was also director of strategic planning. She is president of AGP Spain and associate professor at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya.

These five speakers are joining creative directors Enric SoldevilaAna Luna and Natalia Mirapeix, previously announced last week for Sitges Next 23.

Sitges Next is an initiative of the Sitges Town Council, organized by the Sitges Next Association as a festival dedicated to promoting innovation in the communication of brands, agencies, startups and technological creators. It’s two days to establish new connections, receive input and get inspired, with the objective of making a significant contribution to the transformation of the way we communicate over the upcoming years.

This year Sitges Next will be enhanced by the holding of the Nit de la Comunicació (Communication Night ) and the Premis Impacte (Impacte Awards) organized by the Col·legi del Màrqueting i la Comunicació de Catalunya (Association of Marketing and Communication).
